A pinch of salt, added to the wound

As chinese, I would have to agree to the blatant statement by you-know-who UMNO leader, that we chinese were immigrants who came all the way from China mainland.

But..I do believe that the origins of our soil werent the Malays but the migrants from South India back 40 - 60 thousand years ago. (referrence: http://sathiam.blogspot.com/2008/05/who-are-original-people-of-malaysia.html). So are we hearing to a historical-illeterate who challenged us towards our citizenship as Malaysian? Bear in mind, before we had Malaysia, our country is called Malaya by the international traders back thousand years ago.

if I had a choice or given an opportunity or fate of destiny, I would prefer not to be in this country. Its not that I hate this beautiful country with pristine beaches, disaster free environment, but a hue to the people who lead and manage our country. Stop accusing me for disloyalty and ask yourself deep heartedly.

Q: Where were you during our national day celebration on 31 August every year?A: Sleeping, brunch as usual, nothing related to the big day?

Q: When was the last time you sing/listen to Negaraku?                                    A: For me, the most recent would be from the controversial-talented rapper Wee from Muar in Youtube.

In fact, deep inside, I felt proud when watching live telecast of the Olympic Games held in China. So did my parents, relatives, friends, etc.

What to get when fall…crushed?

August 24th, 2008 by keiichi-col

I was at a hotel in Sg Petani last thursday when I saw Lee CW with his coach, Misbun having their breakfast next to my table. I was thinking perhaps they were sharing the same fate as mine. Last few weeks the hotels around Penang were fully booked. Thats why I was there, and so do they. As I read the newspaper right then, only to realise that he was knighted Datuk.

It wasnt a really bad sign, but it annoyed me to learn that politics are really getting into every aspect of our life, nonetheless sporting event. A decade ago when Cheah SK and Yap KH were in final match in Atlanta, they got a silverware. But they werent honored like what Lee CW received…What on earth could it be happening if Lee CW won a gold medal? Tan Sri maybe…But all would be in our dreams if it wasnt coincidently in conjunction with the by-election at Permatang Pauh right? What if Lee CW isnt a Penangite!!?? Sounds a good one huh…

How many times do we have to be assumed an idiot or retarded one? The BN (Barang Naik) back benchers said it wasnt part of their campaign. To make things more interesting, the news of price drop in our petrol fuel were announced almost simultanously. Now thats what I called a corrupted mind…

Many relieved kiasu fellas were already queueing at petrol station right before the announcement. I thought it would be at least 30 cents extra "subsidy" for every litre following a drastic drop in crude oil price… Malaysians sometimes are easily get satisfied over simple notions. But not yet…

To all Permatang Pauh frensters, whoever it may be, we count on you guys to make a redemption in our history.

Power

April 15th, 2008 by keiichi-col

Everyday, we are influenced by people around us for good or for worst. Regardless of whether it is from a movie, a song, a leader, a sportsman, your colleague, your neighbour, any figure could send this invisible energy into your life.

When I was in secondary school, where I met all my schoolmates whom eventually turn buddies of my life and discussed about what the future hold for us. I still remember asking whether any of us would start smoking when we reach adulthood. As most of us are so passionate in sports, we never imagine of living an unhealthy life. Now I witness most of them are heavy smokers…

But it is utterly dissapointing when you witness people around you has changed they way they live their life. For bad. Not those tattooing that made them notorious, but its more to character and habitual behavior that seemed unacceptable at certain times.

"Power is when there is a justification to kill, and you dont, that’s power…" (Oskar Schindler in Schindler’s List).

I will remember this quote for my lifetime as I am so touched by this true story. But long before I watched this sentimental movie, little wisdom has been guiding me when I needed it most. Everyday, there are situations where you need such defined "power".

When most of your colleagues are going for an afternoon drink and you say, "no thanks, I’ve got things to be unloaded", that’s power.

When most of the people around you who turned to be smokers and you feel the "peer-pressure" in you to join them, you stay untouchable… That’s power.

When people around you backstab at you for jealousy reason or whatever, you dont retaliate. You accept it positively. That’s power. Same to situation when your boss is hitting at you for doing a bad job. Just turn that into good energy and you feel revitalized and motivated.

I witness many people who seemed overjoyed when their salary are freshly banked into their account, and they would feast better meals or going to cinema twice on the very first week. Some even pretend to be high classee or richy rich ordering Frappuccino at Starbucks. When the month slightly ends, they skip lunch, watch movies from the Internet instead of cinema, teh-o-ais at mamak stall and worst of the worst, ask out some guys whom he/she knows they will give him/her a treat.

I encounted people who are desperate to be in companionship. When people around them is no longer single or going to marry, they feel uncomfortable of not having a companion when there is a gathering. In the end, they regretted the relationship.

This kind of unconscious thinking slowly turns into habit and worst, become a character. Character cannot be amended. That’s how we have this infamous word of accusation, "kiasu"…

Scam from HK

April 1st, 2008 by keiichi-col

I just cant believe what amazing things happened in this whole month.

First, the complication of assigning new MB in Perak.

Secondly, one of the boss would like to follow appointment with us all.

Thirdly, received call from a mandarin speaking lady who claimed that I ve won a lucky draw!

Her accent were so strong so obviously she from China, made the claim that I was chosen randomly by her company. Trying to unlock more from this lady, I knew this call was more to a fraud.

I dont know where the heck she got both me and my gf’s mobile phone numbers. But she did it quite persistently to my gf, as I’m just an amateur of mandarin, just didnt know what the heck she wants. Perhaps its time to brush my mandarin speaking.

She wanted us to call to a so called account dept to claim the money. But we ignored her message, until one day she called back to my gf (she had given up on me cuz its like chicken and duck conversation), showing some anger on why we didnt call to the acc dept. We just nodded. Not long after, she had given up on us…

Soon I realised that this scam has been in the news for quite some time, some really happened to believe her and fall to her trap! In fact, I had been trying to get more info so I could report to relevant party, at least to stop this bandits from keep cheating ppl, but cant help it as it was from China or Hong Kong.

So, today’s lesson from great grand old mother story ler, "orang yang tamak selalu rugi…"

F**k the police…

April 1st, 2008 by keiichi-col

Best read along with this song,

Bleed it out - Linkin Park

Mind my words, yea, after election campaign, I see hells on the road. I really have problem with what the traffic policemen have been doing, so called assisting the traffic flow. My foot…

In the past writings, I did mentioned there were 2 policemen doing the controlling of traffic flow at one point at the Summit USJ, now I see 3 fellas. It angered me more as the traffic flow did not improve but…making it worst! On Monday, I was stucked in front of the 3 lanes for more than 20 minutes. It wasnt over yet.

Took the KL-Putrajaya highway to KL, right after the toll booth, there was a long queue towards Jln Tun Razak. Again, the policemen in front of Menara RHB has done his part. It took 20 minutes again to reach my office.

The next day, all the government controlled newspapers claimed that it was due to SMART tunnel which has been closed. May I know how really affected the SMART tunnel to the traffic jam would that be? 40 percent? I dont see many uses SMART tunnel.

One behavior I see from the "White stocking", its a payback time to citizen right aftermath of General Election. Losing many giant figures in the Cabinet, there will be no smooth transition of passing the baton to the opposition parties. We citizen are gonna face more frustration, anger, and unfairness.

More fairness perhaps… stricter traffic rules by implementing heavier penalty for traffic offenses, anyone? So beware of the white stockings, dont just simply offer this statement, "Settle sini la, tiga puluh cukup kah?"

Disturbing

Watched the 15 minutes short film by Geert Wilders, Fitna. To my disbelief of what he had mentioned in the film, I downloaded a English version of Quran, only to know that the history about holy war and hatred on certain ethnics are the contents of the book.

One thing I do agree is, there will be no war or violence if everyone believes in one God. That reminds me of the film, Hero depicting the first emperor to unite of what we know now, China. He had made a lot of sacrifices of his men on war for one purpose. But to many people, he is a causer of holocaust and violence, perhaps a terrorist if brought to our civilization.

But in this world nowadays, we are practising freedom to believe what we believe. In China alone, there are more Muslims than in Malaysia as Malaysia is declared a modern Islamic country. But in China, they are bow to peace and holy as what Islam teachings are.

We are fortunate that in Malaysia, we are free from all these. Now that’s what I love Malaysia…

Happy birthday Malaysia…& Samy

Sometimes you never thought that natural or man made phenomenon will occur during your lifetime. Things like global warming, execution of Saddam Hussein, and most of all to us, Malaysians, a political revolution.

A new dawn for us Malaysian, regardless of chinese, malays or indian as we have clearly disseminated a message to the nation if not the world. A reform.

Issues that trigger the time bomb

1. Obviously the uncompromising inflation for all the controlled(subsidised) items like flourmill, gas petrol, toll, etc.

2. Increasing crime rate. Remember the murder cum rape case in Bangsar, Caryn Ong and even the link of police officer like the Altantuya murder case.

3. Unequal distribution of almost everything. By adding salt to the wound, the statement of "reuse of Keris" by Hisshamuddin has worsened racial integrity, some feared to be comparing to May 13. The government had been arrogant. Even the Bumis dont feel comfortable with it, because they know the Bumi status will never ever be "touched" by anyone.

4. Transparency that shows the real face of elected MPs. What more could be more intriguing? We as the public are the audience of the Dewan Rakyat or the parliament. Didnt they realise they were the actual Truman show? Younger generation like us are Internet savvy, every moments of truth is just a click away.

5. Have you realised the opposition didnt really fork out lot of $$ for posters on the streets? That is just a waste of resource, as if you could imagine the thrashes after election campaign. I was registered to vote in Bandar Tun Razak which saw Tan Chai Ho (BN) being challenged by Khalid Ibrahim from PKR. My residential area was postered like bee hive by BN campaigner. But there was not even one leftlet from PKR that showed the image of Khalid Ibrahim, instead, it was the image of de factor leader, Anwar Ibrahim. No doubt, I am still proud that I have voted the right choice.

The are definitely more to be said. I think Pak Lah have woke up today and hoped what happened yesterday was just a nightmare. If he is still figuring what fails them on this election, then I do hope he could find some answer on the opposition website if not small thinker like us here.

Malaysia Boleh Part 2

Election

With the up coming election around the corner, everyone is aware of the current news which put all Malaysians into shock, some may feel how idiotic Malaysian government is doing their jobs.

Our Electorial Commission (EC) had came out with a brilliant idea to tackle false/ clone voters, an indelible ink from India. After made bookings of estimated RM 2.2 millions worth of those inks, now only they realised that this idea of painting inks onto every voter’s nail could be a total disaster!!!

So my favorite question is whose $$ has been wasted???

a. The government’s global investment fund

b. Mr. Clean’s Son-In-Law

c. EPF fund

You know the answer. None of the above…

There are few types of voters…

Vote for a change…

Sounds politically motivated… But do you think the opposition can handle those pressure like national or family security, stability of the economy, etc? Take a look of our former deputy PM, Anwar. Is it for the sake of revenge or Malaysians? Honestly, Im confused too.

Well, like those china pek used to tell us, "Lu mau undi roket atau bulan atau separuh bulan, lu suka, tapi jangan lu undi sama itu penimbang biru-biru punya." This is an emotionally motivated.

Traffic policemen

I used to travel via Kesas highway on the peak hours where the traffic lights are more sickening than the car next to you. Hail the programmers of those traffic lights. None of them have conducted a thorough survey before they implement the codes to control the time of the traffic flow…agree? None…

So they have come out with yet another brilliant idea, by sending not 1 but 2 traffic policemen in the middle of EVERY traffic light. You can be the witness of that when you are in front of the Summit USJ. Guess what, traffic policemen No. 1 is the guy who control the traffic, while No. 2 is the boring-breaker, mainly for chit chat purpose. Dont believe that, better believe it.

Hindraf issue

I love chendol and rojak. Everybody does. But unfortunately you couldnt find those in the mamak stall in the shop or restaurant. They are usually hawker sellers with a motorcycle equipped with a metal case to carry almost everything from plastic tables and chairs to delicacies.

I used to have them nearby my apartment. This young indian lad had been making a decent income from this business. According to him, he was caught twice by DBKL for illegally allocating a public place for his business. Until now I do feel pity for him.

We can hear thousands of reasons from DBKL to halt his business, but I cant accept some of them. DBKL can give reasonss that if they dont take action againts illegal hawkers, those restaurateur or mamak stall operators might voice out their discontent, claiming the affect of their business. But…do they sell the same food?

One obvious purpose to disrupt those small timer business entepreneur is monetary motivated. Have you ever came across a news where this famous mamak stall named Steven’s Corner in OUG/Cheras?

This happened some time ago but was not forgotten. Its related to a high ranking politician who directed DBKL to wash over all the tables and chairs which were placed outside of the restaurant. But things hit back to the politician because he has been taking bribes from the owner. Again you can see in Malaysia, everything could be motivated by $$. Boleh la…

“You Wanna Make A Memory” by Bon Jovi

Finally, I found a song that could match my all-time classic, "Hand Me Down" by Matchbox 20. Its just sentimental, not like Canon in D kinda sentimental, but it touches down to your heart so deep you might consider dropping a few tears for good.

Karma…

12.42 am

It seemed like a recurrent wave hitting at you everytime you place your feet onto the sandy beach. When I was a teen, I played basketball so passionately, where bracing the sunlight in the afternoon wouldn’t matter my taning skin. Now, I am playing for my fitness and health which are so obviously deteriorating.

I believe most of you have read about the 90/10 principles where the consequence could be depending on how you react. I proved this principle wrong, cuz sometimes when you’re hitting the boiling point, you just dont give a damn on it. Just let it be… (John Lennon taught us this).

Its just the wrong side of right!!! Or otherwise. No matter how, one thing I could assure you is, I will never be on the right side.
